In rubber product manufacturing, the quality of sealing strips directly determines product performance and service life. 1. Raw Material Preparation

The performance of rubber seals starts with material quality. Formulations must remain stable and uniform. Compounding should be thorough to avoid defects such as impurities, pinholes, or bubbles. For materials such as TPE and PVC, proper drying is necessary to prevent moisture-related surface issues.

2. Extrusion Process Control

Precise control of extrusion temperature, screw speed, and die adjustment is critical. Excessive temperatures may cause scorching, while low temperatures can lead to insufficient plasticization. Screw rotation and die alignment must be carefully managed to ensure uniform and accurate profiles.

3. Sizing and Vulcanization

Vacuum or water cooling systems should maintain stable pressure and cooling speed to achieve precise cross-sectional dimensions. For EPDM and silicone seals, vulcanization with microwave or hot-air systems must be strictly controlled to prevent under- or over-curing.

4. Surface and Functional Treatments

Depending on application requirements, sealing strips may require surface coating, flocking, or adhesive backing. These treatments must be applied evenly and securely to prevent peeling, warping, or wear during use.

5. Inspection and Quality Control

Multiple quality checks are required throughout production. This includes surface appearance, dimensional accuracy, hardness, compression set, and weather resistance. Strict inspection ensures compliance with customer requirements.

6. Post-Processing and Packaging

Finished products should be cut to precise lengths with clean edges. When coiled and packed, sealing strips must be free of creases and deformation. Packaging should be moisture-proof and UV-resistant, with clear batch numbers and production dates for traceability.

7. Safety and Equipment Maintenance

Operators must follow safety protocols to avoid burns or mechanical hazards. Electrical systems and vulcanization equipment should be regularly inspected. After shutdown, screws and dies must be cleaned to prevent carbon buildup and ensure stable long-term operation.
